Architect and planner Thymio Papayannis studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the National Technical University of Athens.
He is (with Luc Hofmann) co-founder of WWF Greece and the Society for the Protection of Prespa and has been a member of the board of WWF International and the Tour du Valat Foundation. His numerous accolades include an honorary membership by WWF International, an honorary doctorate by the Agricultural University of Athens, a lifetime achievement award by the Hellenic Association of Consulting Firms, and the title of Historical President of the Association of Greek City and Urban Planners.
Thymio established TPA in 1958; in 1980 the company became a S.A., with him as its managing partner.
Ivy Nanopoulou studied in Paris – at the École Spéciale d’ Architecture. She joined TPA as an associate, becoming a partner in 1987 and the firm’s managing partner in 1999. Since 2021, she presides the BoD. Exemplifying TPA’s holistic approach, Ivy manages the firm with commitment to its social role, quest for innovation and professional culture. Under her direction, TPA has extended its services into landscaping and urban design – undertaking complex, iconic international projects, such as the Athens Regeneration Project at Faliron, the Tae Kwon Do Olympic venue; the King Abdullah II Park in Amman; the “Greeks and the Sea” Cultural Park in Athens (1st prize); the cultural facilities of the Athens Conservatoire; the Amphitryon and Nafplia Palace listed hotels, in Nafplion.
Katerina Andritsou studied Architecture at the NTUA. She holds a Master’s degree in “Design, Space & Culture” from the same University, as well as in Landscape Architecture from the Technical University of Catalonia in Barcelona. She joined TPA as an associate in 2007, later becoming a partner in 2021. She has extensive experience in large-scale urban design and landscaping studies in Greece and abroad, and has also successfully participated in a series of architectural competitions.
Stratis Babalikis is an Urban Planner MSc MPhil who joined TPA in 2021 as a partner. He has over 20 years of experience in urban and regional planning studies in Greece and abroad, including Europe, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. His expertise includes strategic and master planning, spatial development, land-use zoning and management, public and stakeholders consultation, as well as technical consultancy support to local and central governmental bodies regarding urban development issues.
Stavros Christopoulos graduated from the École spéciale d’architecture in Paris in 1982. He joined TPA as an associate and became a partner in 1996. He holds significant experience as project manager and key design-team member in a great number of architectural studies covering a wide range of projects. He played a crucial part in the coordination of the studies undertaken by TPA for the Athens Olympics. He also has great experience in the provision of architectural supervision services.
George Dimitropoulos is an urban and spatial planner, a graduate of the University of Thessaly (2003) with a MSc on transport planning from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2004). He joined TPA as an associate in 2006 and became a partner in 2021. He has extensive experience in spatial and urban planning studies, strategic environmental assessment, and landscape research and management, having participated in projects in Greece and abroad.
Thymios Dimopoulos is an architect and spatial planner, a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (2005) with an MSc in geography and applied geoinformatics from the University of the Aegean (2019). He joined TPA as an associate in 2006 and became a partner in 2021. His experience spans spatial and urban planning studies, urban design, and landscape research and management, both in Greece and internationally.
Sofia Lazarou graduated with a master’s in architecture from National Technical University of Athens in 2002. She joined TPA as an associate in 2003 and has been a partner since 2015. She has participated as a main team member or lead architect in the architectural design of many building projects, such as residences, offices, university buildings, hotels, hospitals, and sports facilities. She also has vast experience in restoration and renovation of buildings on different scales.
Aristotelis Maltezis graduated in 1987 with a master’s degree from the Civil Engineering Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He joined TPA in the same year and became a partner in 1994 He has participated as a leading team member in the structural design of a large number of complex building projects such as hospitals, university buildings, hotels, sports facilities for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, and reconstructions/renovations of existing building complexes.
Irene Nikitaki holds a master’s degree from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (1990). She joined TPA as an associate in 1991, and became a partner in 1996. She has significant experience in residential projects, commercial buildings, hotels, and sports facilities, together with urban planning and landscape design. Her particular area of expertise is multiple-building design, coordination of design teams, and issues related to the construction process and building materials.
Eleftheria Nikoloudi graduated from the National Technical University of Athens with a master’s in architecture in 2002. She joined TPA as an associate in 2002, becoming a partner in 2021. She has participated as a main team member or lead architect in a wide variety of projects, such as office buildings, cultural centers, tourist facilities, residencies, educational institutions, and hospitals. She has also extensive experience in the coordination of large design teams working on high-complexity projects.
Takis Panagiotopoulos holds a master’s degree from the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (1979). He has been an associate of TPA since 1983 and a partner since 1996. He holds significant experience as coordinator and team leader of structural design teams in a wide range of major projects that includes hospitals, university buildings, tourist facilities, industrial buildings, banks, office buildings, and sports facilities.
Dimitris Poulios graduated with a master’s degree from the School of Architecture at the University of Thessaly in Volos (2010) and continued his postgraduate studies in the field of urban design at Cardiff University in the UK, with a scholarship from the Bodossaki Foundation. In 2021 he completed his PhD in the field of urban planning at the NTUA, as a scholar of the Onassis Foundation. He joined TPA in 2013 and has been a partner since 2019.
Ioannis Tasoulas graduated with a master’s degree from the School of Civil Engineering at the NTUA (2001) and also received a MSc from the same school in 2003, on the design and construction of underground structures. He joined TPA in 2002 and has been a partner since 2004. He has 20 years of professional experience in the elaboration and supervision of structural design studies. He is an expert in building legitimization issues according to Greek legislation.
Irini Tsakiropoulou holds a master’s degree in architecture from the Iuav University of Venice (1983). She joined TPA in 1985, later becoming a partner in 1995. She has extensive experience as a project manager in the fields of urban and spatial planning and development, having been involved in projects on various scales, including spatial plans, structural urban plans, urban regeneration studies, town planning studies, industrial areas and business parks, and land use surveys and studies.
Lina Zacharatou holds a master’s degree from the Civil Engineering Department of Technical University Darmstadt, Germany (1997). She joined TPA in 1998 and has been a partner since 2004. She has participated in the structural design of complex building projects e.g. hospitals, university buildings, hotels, sports facilities. She holds the Quality Assurance Manager’s position and has been involved in business development activities and the design management / coordination of healthcare projects in the Middle East.
Maria Zafeiriadou holds a Diploma of Architect Engineer from AUTh and a SMArchS, in Architecture & Urbanism, from MIT. She joined TPA in 2024 as a partner, after having worked in the Netherlands for several years. She brings an extensive international experience in masterplanning and urban design, having worked in, and led, projects in Europe, Asia, Middle East, U.K. and Canada. Her experience includes, among others, mixed-use districts, innovation districts, hospitality and tourism developments, redevelopment of business parks and waterfront developments.
Thanos Andritsos studied Architecture at the University of Thessaly (2010), holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from NTUA (2012), and is a PhD researcher in sustainable urban development. He joined TPA in 2021. He has more than ten years of experience in urban and regional planning, sustainable development, Integrated Territorial Investments, and urban design. He has worked as project manager, team leader, consultant, and senior planner in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Vasiliki Bakomichali holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Patras (2020) and an MSc in City and Technology from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (UPC) (2024), graduating with distinction. During her studies, she participated in the Erasmus+ Program in Vienna and gained professional experience in Greece and abroad. She joined TPA in 2024 as a Computational Urban Designer, contributing to the office’s digital transformation, particularly within the urban planning and design unit. Her work includes urban design projects, master planning, geospatial analysis, data visualization, and optimization processes.
Evangelia Billa graduated with a master’s in architecture from the Democritus University of Thrace(2017). She also holds a master’s degree in Architecture & Urbanism from the Manchester School of Architecture, University of Manchester(2020). Since 2020, she’s an associate in TPA, participating in architectural and urban design of complex building projects, such as museums, hospitals, and university buildings. Her design work includes urban regeneration studies and architectural projects in different scales, while she has successfully participated in architectural competitions.
Angelos holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from NTUA (2020) and an MSc in Human Settlements from KU Leuven. He joined TPA in 2024 as an Urban Planner-Architect, where he works on Local Urban Plans and urban design projects. He is particularly interested in research and design related to climate change mitigation and socio-spatial justice, as well as projects that integrate nature, water, and culture. Angelos aims for transdisciplinary synergies, advocating for inclusive public spaces, resilient landscapes, and equitable development.
Marios Danakos is a spatial and urban planner, who graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2012) and also holds a master’s degree in environmental planning and design from the Hellenic Open University (2018). He joined TPA in 2015, and has been involved in major projects of the firm since then. He has significant professional experience, having worked in various spatial and urban planning studies, environmental studies, and planning consulting services, both in Greece and abroad.
Zoe Dimitriadou joined TPA in 2011. She holds the position of executive administrative secretary (personal assistant to the CEO) and is the administrator of the company’s Tenders Department.
Lida Driva graduated in 2014 with a master’s in architecture (TUC, Crete). She holds a master’s degree in landscape urbanism (AA, London, 2015) and an MPhil in architecture and the built environment (Westminster University, London, 2023). She joined TPA in 2022 as an architect-landscape architect after working in London for several years. Her design work includes large-scale masterplanning, mixed-use development, urban regeneration and landscape studies in Greece and abroad, while she has successfully participated in international architectural competitions.
George Giannios is a Management and Development Consultant with extensive experience in project management, strategic planning and business development across the public and private sectors. He has worked on large-scale renovation projects, infrastructure development, and strategic initiatives for public authorities, focusing on efficiency and quality. He also specializes in identifying and securing funding opportunities. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Patras and an Executive MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He speaks English and basic German and is a passionate long-distance runner.
Anna Kaouri is an architect with a master’s in architecture from the National Technical University of Athens (2012) and experience in architectural and urban design studies in Greece and abroad (Europe, the Middle East, China). She joined TPA in 2019 as an architect-designer, where she has collaborated with international clients on large-scale projects. Her design work includes a wide variety of projects such as hospitals, tourist facilities, airports, as well as reformations of public buildings.
Eleni Karanikola graduated with a master’s in architecture from the School of Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008. Thereafter she obtained her MSc from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn (2011). She joined TPA in 2020. She has worked in Thessaloniki, Athens, and New York collaborating with renowned architectural offices in high-rise residential, hospitality, educational and institutional projects. Her work has been awarded and published in Greece and abroad.
Petros Karapetsas is a Civil Engineer, NTUA and a graduate of Athens School of Law, NKUA with three decades of experience in the preparation of studies for building projects and major infrastructure projects, in the management of complex projects, in technical implementation consulting services, and in tender support and procurement process services for public and private entities an authorities in Greece and abroad. With in-depth knowledge of Greek and EU legislation and law cases on the award, execution, and resolution of issues arising in public and private design and construction contracts, he can contribute decisively with his expertise to the resolution of emerging issues and ensure the smooth completion tendering processes and implementation of projects.
Takis Kyriakakis holds a master’s degree from the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens (1996). He joined TPA in 2020. He has been working in large-scale private and public projects in Greece, including residential buildings, hotels, industrial facilities, transportation projects, and monument restoration. He has great experience in project management and the construction process, while his work has received awards in national competitions and has been published in Greek journals.
Chrysanthi Mastori holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens (2022), where she received the L. Kaftantzoglou Award for outstanding academic performance. She joined TPA in 2023 and has since contributed to a wide range of projects, spanning from detailed architectural design to large-scale urban developments. Her main areas of focus are urban planning, large-scale design, and public realm projects. In 2024, she commenced her MSc studies in Urban and Regional Planning at the National Technical University of Athens.
Lydia Mousmouti holds a master’s degree from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (2001). She joined TPA the same year, and has been involved in large-scale urban projects and resorts, healthcare facilities, tourism facilities, luxury houses, and buildings of special status. Her main design interest is the integration of buildings in the landscape, as well as the environmental impact of architectural design.
Alexandros has been working for TPA in the Technical Support department since 2024. He holds qualifications in Computer and Network Technical Support, Journalism, and Project Management. Beyond technology, his working experience spans radio production and humanitarian services for refugees and asylum seekers. Alexandros enjoys building and maintaining computers and databases in optimal condition, as well as revitalizing obsolete technology.
Anastasia Palloglou is a spatial urban planner, who graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2018. She holds a Master’s Degree in Local and Regional Development and Local Government from the University of Piraeus in 2021. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Tourist Carrying Capacity at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 2018, she has been actively involved in numerous environmental impact studies and urban planning projects. She has been a member of TPA since 2024.

She joined TPA in 2017 as an architect, where she has participated as a main team member in a number of large-scale projects, collaborating with international clients. Her design work includes a wide variety of projects, such as hospitals and healthcare buildings, retail facilities, hotels, airports, and building complexes. She has also extensive experience in detail design, construction details, and materials.
Andreas Platis holds a master’s degree in architecture from University of Thessaly (2014). After eight years of professional experience in Athens he joined TPA in 2023 as a Computer Graphics Generalist. His work includes 3d modeling and rendering for architectural visualizations.
Diana Roussi holds a master’s degree from the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens. She completed the Master’s in City and Technology at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, UPC in Barcelona. She joined TPA in 2021 as an architect and urban designer. Since then, she has participated in architectural competitions, and collaborated with international clients. Her work includes architectural and urban projects as well as geospatial analysis and visualization.
Chara Simatou graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University in 2015. Prior to that, she had obtained a degree in the renovation and restoration of buildings from the Technological Institute of Patras (2007) and completed the Master’s of Science in Environmental Design of Buildings at the Welsh School of Architecture (2010). She joined TPA in September 2022. She became a Qualified Architect in 2020 and has been a member of the ARB since then.
Stelina holds an Integrated Master’s degree from the National Technical University of Athens (2021) and an MSc in Landscape Architecture from TU Delft (2024). During her time in the Netherlands, she explored the relationship between landscape, ecology, and urban transformation, gaining experience at a Rotterdam-based landscape office working on public space visions, waterfronts, and large-scale urban planning. She joined TPA in 2025 as an Architect–Landscape Architect, working on masterplanning, waterfront strategies, strategic plans for cultural landscape transformations, and public space design. She is particularly interested in cultural and industrial heritage landscapes rooted in the Greek context, exploring connections between land, heritage, water systems, and place identity.
Lina Tsalli is a Geographer and GIS Analyst at TPA, since 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Harokopio University (2024) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the National Technical University of Athens. Her work focuses on geospatial data processing, spatial analysis, and mapping within urban and regional planning projects. Lina is particularly interested in the relationship between space, society, and urban development.
Maro Tsompou graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2019. She joined the TPA team in 2024 as an administrative secretary.
Naya is an architect with a master’s degree in Urbanism from TU Delft, Netherlands. She joined TPA in 2023, bringing several years of experience from the Netherlands, where she worked in various urban and landscape offices. Her expertise includes urban visions, masterplans, and public space design, with projects across Greece, Europe, China, and the Middle East. With extensive experience across different phases of the design process, she demonstrates a deep understanding from concept to completion.
Chryssa Varna is a Computational Designer, BIM Architect and Design Technologist. After graduating from the School of Architecture at AUTH (2011), she completed her Master’s of Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London (2013) and worked in London and New York for 10 years. As Head of Design Technology and BIM Manager at TPA she leads the office’s digital transformation with focus on computational design, BIM management and coordination, complex geometry rationalization, parametric design tools, environmental analysis, and VR/AR experiences.
Konstantinos Xanthopoulos is an architect-engineer. He graduated from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens in 2019 and joined TPA in January 2024 as an associate. Since 2020 he has been involved in the design and construction of building projects as an associate in architectural offices and as a freelancer. His work includes multiple architectural competitions for the design and study of public and private projects, as well as scientific collaborations with NTUA – ELKE for design and restoration studies.
Vasso Zebeki studied accounting at the School of Administration and Economics of the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus (currently part of the University of West Attica). She joined TPA in 2007 and holds the position of the company’s assistant accountant.
